Alisha--I would buy one of those learn to sew simplicity patterns and make PJ pants or a simple skirt first...nothing with a zipper! Cheesy The instructions usually include basics like how to lay out fabric etc.

Or maybe an apron...a mug rug has corners, quilting, turning inside out, etc. However, I think you could handle it!  Trial and error is a good teacher, even if the project turns out a bit wonky! Cheesy  JUMP IN!!!

Guys, not to be a meanie--but can we take the tattoo talk to the Tattoo thread, please? Cheesy
Thanks Always, I actually already know how to sew(though I am not advanced). This is my second machine, which is why I am so excited yet intimidated by it because there are so many new-to-me features that I don't even know where to begin! I actually like working with zippers and have often questioned what is so scary about them.  Huh  I have quilted before but only once. It was 12 years ago and I made a pillow for a "pioneer" project. Though that was a while ago. I was just wondering if there was any tips mug rug related that I should know before I start. Hmm maybe I will just tackle it and hope for the best.

Sorry about the tattoo talk. Ones with tattoos have a bond like crafters do. When a new member joins the group or when there is talk about it, it is hard not to get overly excited.  Tongue  Cool

I received my sample today from SpoonFlower.

And I think my next project needs to be working on the craft room - again (or still). *sigh*  Our library/office/craft room is all one big room, and I've been trying for almost three years to figure out how to arrange the furniture so that it works  I just reversed the room, and now all the craft supplies are a disaster again.  Roll Eyes

I finished 2 projects!  I completely underestimated how motivating blogging would be; I like to talk about the projects so I'm more likely to get them done!

I got the BF's Hiccup costume made for Halloween/GenCon (the other pieces will be bought, so I consider my part done)

I also finished a sleeveless top for myself (just as it's getting too cold to wear them!) from Simplicity 2181.

I'm up to 12!  I may make it to 25 yet this year; just gotta keep going...

It's never too cold for a sleeveless top - you just layer it! Wink

Fabulous projects as always.  This is crazy time for me as my big festival/race event is this weekend and I am supposed to be completely focused on that.  I have been working all summer with a quick last gasp this week to make badges to donate for charity sale at the event.  I got the packaging mostly worked out so I am pretty excited about that too.

I just noticed I cropped out most of the basket of badges.  There are over 100 of them that I have made this summer.  They all have iron on sticky on the back and are all attached to the card.  Except for the 8 large canoe patches, they were all made from one pair of jeans!

I have no idea how to count these toward my project list....  but I'll worry about that later.  It is back to work for me now.

One of my August Birthday Swap claims has been received, so I can share now! I made her a cupcake and a dragon - from a new pattern you'll be pleased to see Tongue

(Is it poor form to use her photo? I figured it would save server space and bandwidth, or is it just lazy and cheeky? I can upload my own pics if this is a faux pas)

Any photo on Craftster is up for grabs...as long as it is not used improperly (like claiming you made stuff and you did not, which this group would NEVER do!)...sometimes my partners take WAY better photos than I do!! Cheesy

What a lot of badges!  I love the idea of using denim as the base...

That baby blanket is so adorable skittlebub...

and fishstix--you look so lovely in your new top!  Flattering fit and color...I agree with A2JC4life...layer it with a cardigan and it is good to go!

love the little cupcake!

wow--look at all the goodies slientblair got!  You outdid yourself!  It must be fun to do Dr. Who stuff...there are so many things unique to that show...I still want to make the scarf...
