By the look of it it's 2 large rectangles. The left shoulder the back overlaps the front & on the right the front overlaps the back. The arms are sewn (the seam) to the length required, and the wrists are drawstring - That's my take on it any way. If it doesn't make sense I can probably sketch it & scan for you

That doesn't make sense to me, but I was thinking maybe it's just a regular shrug, with a really long body part? In which case I'd make a very long and wide scarf, and sew the arm seams together? I think I will try making a charcoal one first, before I break out my precious rainbow yarn.

Feel free anyone to weigh in with other ideas... today I'm not working on anything but this jolly wall. If I had been involved in anything other than holding wood during cutting/measuring/screwing into wall, I'd be counting it as a project. It's certainly been disruptive enough. But DP is doing most of it, so I'm sure it doesn't count. (I don't think he trusts me with his power tools!)

SilverMoon - I posted something similar earlier this year...  granted I'm not really happy with it, I wish I'd done it differently and I may make another one that I like better...  here are my suggestions if you want to crochet it instead of knit it (the one on your pinterest is knit).

Using double crochet (not single...  WAY to heavy - especially depending on what size hook you're using) make a REALLY long scarf.  Try it on periodically to see if its long enough for you to go from wrist to wrist and wrap around your shoulders.  It needs to be wide enough to be folded and seamed around your arms.  so for me...  I'd probably make mine at least a foot wide if not more (but I'm a fatty ).  When you get it made just fold it in half on the ends and seam it up as far up your arm as you want to go, ta-da!   

When I made mine I didn't want it to wrap around me again.  It just goes from wrist to wrist across my back.  I may go back and make one that's much looser and longer so it can wrap around me again.  Good luck and I hope this helps!

Thanks Ffrog, that's pretty much what I was going to try. I know the one on my Pinterest is knit, but I can't knit yet. So, go with what you know...

I finished the second (first purple) round to the border on my epic blanket last night. I'm hoping to get the last round done today while watching Labyrinth with Master Three. Have to vaccum the plaster dust off the floor first though, I promised!

Oh, I totally spaced and forgot to post the birthday present I made for my sister on Friday. Well, I finished it on Friday. Which was handy, as that was her birthday. Took me closer to two weeks though.



It's almost 10 inches high.

I am going to try it with two knitted rectangles as well...

that little monster is precious!  I have been on a monster kick lately--no idea why as I have no kids and I am not really into "cute"...I just love them because they make me smile!
