Hi, everyone! Sorry to leave you hanging a couple months ago -- as you can imagine, things get pretty crazy when your baby son has heart surgery. But everything went fine, and we were sent home a month ago, after spending just more than three weeks in the hospital, most of which was in the ICU.

I started this project before my son was born, and just finished it today.

I did the embroidery while he was in the hospital (thanks for teaching me to split stitch, Troublet!), and took his photo yesterday. My initial idea was to have us all facing each other, but after taking hundreds of photos trying to catch him smiling, I went with the best I had.

The work itself is canvas that I printed on my printer and sewed together. I built the frame it's stretch on, too (yay for first time using a miter saw!)

So that scratches #44 Make some kind of wall art off the list.

I'm trying to catch up on reading the posts, too. Only 20 more pages to go!

Deeder, so glad you are all home!  I love the artwork.  It is beautiful and you have two cuties there.

deeder - so glad to hear that all went well! I hope that you now get to relax and enjoy your adorable family! The wall art is great!

Those tissue paper flowers are fabulous!  Are they hard to do?  I love that they sort of look like tile or glass.
Thanks! They are embarrassingly easy to do... just take a few layers of tissue paper and paint the gel medium on both sides (drying in between) as many layers as you think you need (some I did gel/paper/gel/paper/gel etc others I did gel/a couple of layers of paper/gel <-- those turned out less translucent and occasionally pealed apart but they were much faster!) then just cut or punch out a couple of different flower shapes and sizes, push down the middle of the flower with a pen cap to get the shape, glue them together, and ta-da you are done! (I hope that made sense...).

DawnsTrees - that box is gorgeous!  Thanks for letting us know how you did it (Like I need another project!!!)  Wink

Deeder - that blanket is adorable.  Great work!

Ya know, maybe next year I won't "make a list".  I'll create the list as I go and just add every single swap project and personal project and etsy store project I make just to see exactly how many projects I make in a year.  Hmmmm.....  That just gets me to thinking.  Its a possibility.  Right now I'm going to go embroider some - which I think I have to add to the list.  Wink

With all of the swapping some of you do, you really should count those projects!!!  I bet you will go beyond 50 and see how much you REALLY make in one year! Cheesy

I quite often forget to add them to my list, I also don't add things I sell.

Deeder - that looks great, I'm glad you're all at home now

I think next year I'll have two lists. One a list of things I think I want to do. The other a list of what I actually do.

Yes! Although a lot of stuff on my list is stuff I have to do-- but I keep getting sidetracked.
