No not really. I was born and raised in Utah. But I live in Texas now. Well at least until I find out where we're moving too.

I meant SilverMoon isn't southern.   I cracked up when I read the question.  It's a totally valid question.  But it never occurred to me, until she asked, that not everyone knows that, because I do live in the south.  (Well, definitely not deep south.  But Virginia is still the south. )  Everyone around here knows anything there is to know that's related to potlucks!

I've got the mothers day present ready to go, but am smack in the middle of two sets of birthday presents (can't say what they till they're gone somebody might get all stalky on me! )

I have a pattern to make a quilted casserole carrier...pattern is probably almost as old as I am...came from my mom or a craigslist donation??  Can't remember which.  I have yet to attend a potluck, I'm usually the one holding them...that's how I did Thanksgiving the last 2 years.  We did the bird and the potatoes/gravy, everyone else brought a side or desert or all the sodas/case of beer/bottle of wine.  Works out well for everyone to showcase their best, and for us not to be so stressed out by having everyone over AND doing the entire meal.

My eyes are SO itchy with allergies, and my head is full of craft ideas...both things will keep me from sleeping tonight I think

Just for the record, Casserole covers also work GREAT for pies!  They're such nifty things.

Potlucks aren't that big in Australia. At least, if they are, they aren't in my circles. Although, when we have a party, it is BYOB (bring your own booze) does that count?
I think if I made a quilted sixpack cover I'd get laughed out of the backyard though...

LOL @ Silvermoon. You could make a stubby cooler though or something decorative for the Esky.

Those hooplas are great! The doodle is very pretty, and the clockwork bird is super cool.
