Got a few more crafts done in time for mother's day tomorrow.

Wow. I freaked out for a second. Obviously your mother's day is before ours here in the states. Phew!

Sorry guys!  Yeah mother's day in the UK is today, 4th April Mothering Sunday which is late for us this year, it is normally in March.  I always get confused when US carfts come up so much later and wonder why people take so long posting haha!

The flowers are paper but I confess I didn't make them myself they are actually brads from a stationary shop.  The paper is shaped so they are 3D and just held together with the brad rather than being glued down.

That doll is so cute!

And lady4feet, you are really on top of things, to be finishing up Halloween crafts in April.

I love the doll and I like them without faces myself, though I am now thinking you could make felt expressions and make them interchangeable.........hmm..........

Finished another one!

32. Bird Print Dress - Done

Bird print skirt from Ikea fabric which fits nicely.  This was pretty straight forward so I won't do a separate post about it, for more info see my blog post here http://sorbetsurprise.blogspot.com/2011/04/birdy-skirt-complete.html

What a nice skirt. The fabric is great.

And the doll looks great too.

Love that skirt!
I was actually looking at that fabric and thinking of either making curtains for my kitchen or throw pillows, but MAN it looks so cute as a skirt!
Too bad I can't pull skirts like that off with stubby legs

Thanks!  It's actually just above the knee on me, my model is shorter than me Smiley  I don't like anything too long as it makes me look stubby too!

Great projects in the last few days, everyone Smiley  I have some birdie fabric from IKEA as well, just a slightly different print in black/white/grays.  I think I'll make a skirt from it, too...as unlike most of the IKEA fabrics, this fabric is cotton poplin (AKA standard cotton or quilter's-type cotton) and not canvas-y stuff like is about 85% of their typical fabric offerings.  They gear their textiles lines toward pillows and sofa shams and stuff like that, so you usually want something that will stand up to the abuse more than just cotton...they've gotten into offering more cotton stuff for curtains and stuff I think.

Had this weekend off, and I'm sad to know it's over today and I will not get another one off for a VERY long time (no more time off and no schedule changes in the works until at least June or July).  We did some house cleaning, and I did ZERO crafting Sad  I've been SO bad lately about doing anything.  The most recent crafts I did were for a swap, and they are still in transit so no pics yet.  I have a few more slots on my 50 list to fill, so I think I will add them on and list them here when the box shows up at my partner's house.

I cannot believe that I never thought to use old CD's for crafting!  Love the banner idea...

The apple doll is so very cute as well...

And the skirt--I like the idea of multi-use fabrics...the bird fabric from Ikea is very versatile...

I was on the road all weekend, but I managed to crochet another luna scarf while in the hotel... Cheesy

I will probably be up until midnight finishing up for the drawing because I can't wait until tomorrow! Cheesy

Ooo, I love the CD banner idea! One of those "why didnt I think of that...?" crafts.
I still have a stack of CDs from like 5-10 years ago when companies send a CD with like every junk mail ad they mailed.
I might have to try that idea thanks for sharing!
