Love those hoops!

I am crafting something for the Whedonverse swap, and it is such a cool/fun/novel thing that I just want to share it with all of you, but I can't. Just for a change it isn't a dragon, but I'm bringing the way I plan my dragons over to this project, and it's pretty nifty so far.  Grin

astormorray--those pouches are great! I think I need to haul out my sewing machine and give that a try as soon as I recover a little more. Maybe next week. They are really cute!

Here's another project. Not spring-y at all, but this is me learning something new. I finally tried purling on the KK loom yesterday. I still haven't fully mastered it, but I finished this hat that I can wear with my black and purple woven scarf. I wouldn't send this one to Hats for Hunger, but maybe soon I can make one good enough. I would like an opinion--does this hat need a pom pom on the top, or should I just call it done?I'm leaning toward pom pom. Would that be overkill?  Cheesy

I think next time I will do knit one, purl 2, instead of knit 2, purl one. And I think I'll make the rows of purling wider. I didn't use a pattern, just kind of guessed what I wanted. I also learned how to do the crochet chain cast on for this hat. Still working on mastery of that as well. It looks like it will be raining the next couple of days, and I might be able to get in some practice this weekend. For now, I'm happy that I made an object that looks like a hat.  Grin

I am a fan of the pom pom! Cheesy  Those colors are quite lovely...I have yet to experiment with other stitches on the KK..I love how you are experimenting with so much, laughing lark!

Rather than being overkill. a pompom might unify the colors (assuming you make it with all of the yarns).  It looks good.  I didn't even realize it was possible to purl on those!

I totally bookmarked that zipper pouch tute!  I love the look of the zipper placement Smiley

OK, I'm going to finish up my little embroidery tin and get it photoed soon!  Nicky is gone for the weekend, so I may actually get some things accomplished while I'm here all alone.

Me, too.  A family member has been asking for reusable snack bags.  I never thought to use zippers in these until someone in the birthday swap asked for "zippered snack bags."  I think I will destash some of my zippers, PUL, and fabric scraps for a few of these. Smiley

Hadn't thought about astromorray-style snack bags. Will have to ponder, but what little mental energy I've been able to spend on crafting lately has been directed toward looming teacher appreciation week treats (not really gifts).

While trying to think of easy but nice treats, I stumbled across the tape-measure closure idea (cheaper than zippers for that many projects!) and tried this:

Then I tried something fun with it: Random acts of crafting

thanks guys!

I've got a new yarn!

corridale cross with alpaca, a little over 5 oz

I'm not sure I have ever had a prettier roving to work from! it was such fun to spin.
