lady4feet love the Tee

astormorray love the zippered bags, I'd love to try those but zips scare me

I just got back from the local art supply store with some nice yarn to try my first knitting project and of course I found some knitting mags with some decent stuff in them so I had to buy them too, even though the last time I attempted to learn to knit I failed badly

I just sat down tonight and reorganized my list.  So far I'm at over 60 and that's not all that I have marked on my Pinterest, but I highly doubt I'll accomplish all of them...you guys are awesome though, if it wasn't for you guys I'd be ignoring my crafty stuff altogether!!  Thanks for being so inspiring.  Cheesy

My blog: http://messymama.wordpress.com
Am taking a crafting/posting hiatus and formally withdrawing from all the CAL's I was in.  Need time to recharge and rewire.  But, I am still lurking and loving you guys like crazy, keep posting the amazing projects!!!  You all rock!

SilverMoon, I have to admit when I first saw your picture, I thought, "Wow, her mom has purple hair too!" Then about 5 seconds later I realized it was you. Doh! The cowl is gorgeous, as well as your hair. That's one of the biggest things I miss about not being a "professional." All through high school and college I had different colors in my hair and loved it. Now it's just brown. Tongue

Well, the weather was great this weekend, so DH and I got about 75% of our veggie/herb garden made -- including him hand-tilling the ground (a 6x24 foot patch in our front yard) with a pick-axe (I broke it into smaller pieces with a shovel) and me building a cinderblock wall around the area. Now I need to finish the wall, get a lead test done on the soil (I live in an old foundry town -- better safe than sorry) and top it all off with garden soil, compost and all that jazz. Does anyone have good ideas for compost bins? We're looking for something not too big (we live in a neighborhood) that can be easily constructed. We have access to quite a bit of wood scraps, but I just don't know what the best construction method is -- there are so many to choose from online!

Also, out of necessity, I turned an old pair of pre-preggers jeans into maternity jeans so I could work in the garden. So far, all the maternity clothes I've made have been for work, so I'm really lacking on "normal" clothes. Usually I just wear my elastic band pjs once I get home!  Cheesy

I'll try and get some photos of the garden up soon, but the weather has turned nasty again.

I love that owl embroidery on the taggie, and the stenciled Poe shirt rocks my socks.  And SilverMoon, your cowl looks very snuggly, and you look totally hot in that celebratory photo shoot Grin

I've got MUCH organizing left to do still....I've been on an OCD organizing kick in my craft room since I started my $4.95 swap and joined givers n needers.  I've been cleaning out, which has freed up space to put away the misc piles that I've had laying around.  I've clipped off the t-shirt parts I wanted to use on my patchwork t-shirt skirt I hope to FINALLY make this year...only if I can find a replacement skirt to do it with though, as the one I had sitting around all this time is 3 sizes TOO BIG now due to weight loss...and as a result of my clipping, I have an entire medium flat rate box full of t-shirt scraps to get escorted out of my home Tongue  I'm hoping I can send it to someone in the givers n needers, or that someone else would want it for quilting or to make t-shirt yarn with.  We'll see...  Other than that, I have done 0 crafts to speak of.  *sigh*  And it's not like I DON'T have anything to do Roll Eyes  LOL!  I'm wierd in that I relish in organizing and cleaning sometimes!

Well, I've had the morning off. Grandma's watching the kiddo. All I've managed to accomplish is a trip to the post office and vacuuming his room. I just don't really feel like doing anything.

ugh. i've totally lost track of this thread. i'm going to try and do a better job with keeping up with everyone's posted projects.

i have completed 11 of my projects, and added a couple more.  i think, after i finish up the swaps i am in, i am going to add "abstain from swaps for a while" to my project list.  does that count as a project?  i have some things i've really been wanting to tackle, but i've just been held up with swap crafting (which i love, don't get me wrong!)

Oh, that's so cute!

Tongue

High school I wasn't allowed non-natural colours, and after high school I went straight into the job market. Not into a job mind you... I had a bit of a mini mid life crisis when I turned 29, and thought up a bunch of stupid things to do that I was getting on the "almost too old for" side. Dying my hair purple was one of them, and I was only going to do it with one bottle, but I loved it so much I've had it since October. I have to redye it every second week because it fades so fast, but it's worth it for now. Once my hair gets longer maybe not so much. Rebleaching my roots every 3 months is no fun.

Oh, and since I'm working on nothing but swap stuff for the rest of the week, here's a picture posted by my partner in the Be Awesome swap gallery

rackyroo--I like your felted basket! So delicate and yet sturdy, too, I bet.

Silvermoon--if you go white by age 45 (like me), you can have purple hair EASIER. No roots to bleach out!  Roll Eyes (And i use purple shampoo anyway to keep it truly white and not yellow....)

Astromorray, I've never put a zip in like that for a little bag. Is it hard? Is there a tute here or somewhere? Is there an advantage to that way over top-zip? (Inquiring minds, again.)
