graced I always feel silly saying it, but hey, didn't Michelangelo used to say that he didn't sculpt marble, he just freed the sculpture within the block, or something like that? And whittlers say they listen to the wood to see what it wants to be... at least, one did in a book I read (The Silver Crown) as a child, and that scene has sort of stuck with me. I'm not crocheting, I'm freeing the dragons trapped in the yarn!  Cheesy (Ooh, I like that quote...)

Speaking of freeing dragons, here is a lovely spring green dragon that one of the children will get in their goody bag for my son's party. 2 down, 5 to go.

It was really hard capturing the exact colour, it's a very rich emerald bluey green. He is a "Mighty & Ferocious Dragon" from Crochetville, without legs or spine. I liked the streamlined look of him without legs, so I thought I'd let this one fly  Wink Now I have the idea of making a bunch of them in pink tones and making a mobile for a friend who is having a baby girl in April.

I forgot to add the the March Ami Army assignment was something green, so this counts as a whole project on its own, as well as being 1/7 of the loot bag project. Woot, I'm up to 13/50!

Silvermoon...I too liked the latest dragon creations...they are so individual and adorable!  =]

Still no carrot cake made here...I think my hips/waist won't miss it!   Wink  I've been rather busy today and was lucky to make a quiche for supper instead of freezer food!

Happy belated birthday, alwaysinmyroom...if you don't see this til tomorrow!  =]

I want a dragon mobile for me!!  I am trying to learn to crochet and I can't make it past the second row... yet

Here are a few things off the list:

A neckwarmer for the -43 days we have been having Sad

Recycled crayons (kids stuff?!) for my students

the picture is kind of blurry.  My assistants were trying to help.

My new laptop/bookbag made of curtains (cira 1960)

A purse for myself!  The lining is an old sheet.  A little old lady had it as a tablecloth at her craft booth.  I had to buy a quilt off of her to get the sheet but I think it was worth it.

The light doesn't do it justice...

and my assistants, who keep my feet warm while I sew (they are 80 lbs and both sleep under my desk Smiley)

Razac and Draco

I love that laptop bag, gracie. And your assistants are pretty cute.

Happy Birthday, Always. And thanks for the superb March themes. Everything I have planned for the month fits. Grin

Love the neck warmer!

Thanks to all that talk of being productive and being shamed by all you hyper-crafters, I've finished something.

It is a pillow cover with an Irish 'blessing'* on it.

Machine embroidery for the blessing, on some of that 59 cents/yard muslin I bought.  I used up some leftover binding from my stash for the edges.  It is done just like a quilt binding.  The back just has an overlapping flap.  I'll give it a real post once I get the other two pillows that go with it finished.

*well it is kind of a blessing until you get to last bit about turning their ankles so we will know them by their limping...

waggonswest - I love the 'blessing'! Made my night!!  I would love to see a close up of the clover / celtic knots... I don't really know how machine embroidery works, but this turned out fantastic!

Thought I would try making a 'mug rug' from a few scraps.  I deliberately made it just a little wonky Smiley
