AIMR, nappies are what the British (and probably others, but I learned it from a British friend) call diapers. I need to make one of those for my husband, so he can fit diapers into his man-bag, instead of toting around the pink-flowered diaper bag we have!

I finally found my camera cord, and can post my project #3- learning to crochet!  I had despaired of ever actually learning, because I had tried to learn from my grandma, who's AMAZING (seriously, her christening gowns are fought over).  But this month I had a 12 hour flight to Hawaii, the Happy Hooker, and a bunch of recycled sweater yarn...and ta-da!

I know it's really not that great, but not only is it the first thing I've crocheted, it's also the first thing I've used two colors of yarn, so I'm pretty proud of it, and it will definitely be a usable potholder.  And it's red, so it works for the Feb. challenge!

I love how you have displayed your cranes! Do you have something to put on the top in case it falls over so they don't spill out?

Yikes. I was just thinking about some kind of lid. The cats were *very* interested in this project...

Batgirl, that is amazing. I would never have the patience to do that. I'm running out of steam on my tetris blanket, and that was only 200 squares. (55 to go!  Roll Eyes )
And also, I'd need a better excuse for my DP other than 'they'd look cool in a large glass jar, which we don't have and I'd have to buy, and then find a place for, and then watch the kids knock over and break and cut themselves...'

Seriously, that's how my DP's mind works. And I don't think he'd go for stringing them from the ceiling either somehow... I guess this is one project I won't be putting on my list  Cheesy

They do look fabulous though.
