Catching the Undead Since 2011!

I finally managed to start and finish something: a little easter bunny for Sprout's first easter basket.

I just need to embroider a nose on him and call it a day.

I'm going to make several felted Easter eggs and dye wool to use in the basket.  I can't wait until next year - I have great idea for his basket already!

Also, today is a new moon so I started my first two tinctures.  I felt like an alcoholic going to the ABC store @ 10am this morning and picking up a giant bottle of vodka, but eh.  I just started a calendula tincture and a yarrow tincture.  The calendula tincture will be shared with friends and used as a first aid spray - cleaning wounds, burns, etc.  I may also later make a calendula-infused oil to put into salves to give as gifts.  The yarrow tincture is great to take when you first come down with something.

I'm intrigued by the tinctures, lapoli. How much does a giant bottle of vodka run? I'm in NC too. Obviously not much of a drinker. Smiley

A giant bottle of cheap stuff was less than $15. It's MUCH cheaper to make your own tinctures than to buy them individually!

How do you make them? And where do you find the herbs & info?

It's REALLY easy - just pour herbs into a glass mason jar and pour enough vodka in to cover the herbs. You shake them every day and then, after letting them sit for two weeks, you strain out the herbs and bottle.

I get all of my herbs from Mountain Rose Herbs - they're all organic and high quality.

It looks like the bunny has been made with love and has some pink! Cheesy

Also, the tinctures sound very natural and easy to make...I had no idea it was that simple because they are so very expensive!

Great projects!

Great projects everyone.  Racky, I love the roses.  they are beautiful.  I am still plodding along on some quilts.  But I may have something to post by next week.

I made this anthropologie inspired necklace from a tutorial that I found at Little Miss Momma.

(It's more teal than the blue the picture shows. Oh, and the pom pom on the right that's a little apart is a hair clip that matches.)
