cute dragon! very provacative  Wink Hope she does awesome at auction!

Yay! for the new people still joining us this is one heck of a craftalong! what's it take to set a record around here!?!

I really wanted to post my finished bathroom cabinets but everytime I try to upload them using craftsters photohosting they don't show up in my window (apparently they are invisible to craftster?) So I'll try again later but they are done!!!! so excited husband is just glad to be done with them and maybe get his garage cleaned back up!

I finally got a photo of my rescued fiber and spindle, I think its a drop spindle but I don't really know. I'm positive someone around here does though, any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
I know NOTHING about spinning but couldn't pass up a chance to try free!!

Shan_e_bear... How did you get the spindle pic to come up, and not the others? BTW... That looks like fun. I'll have to get one some day!

shan-E-bear--that looks like it's an Ashford top-whorl drop spindle. At least I think I see the Ashford logo on it. I'm a newbie spinner, but I'll look around for some tutes later on today. Videos will help the most. Here is my first yarn on a top-whorl, from a couple of years ago. I tried spinning, then life got crazy for a while and  I set it aside until this winter, when I started up again with a vengeance.  Cheesy I wish I had kept with it though my dad's final illness, etc. I find now that it's good for stress-relief. It's very calming, portable if you use a spindle, and you end up with your very own yarn!
You'll get thick and thin yarn at first, but it is really fun to do. With practice, your yarn will become more consistent.

I still have this yarn around my stash. Hmmm...maybe I'll get something made out of it this year.  Smiley

Edited to add: These videos will be helpful.

Usually, you'll spin clockwise (to the right) to make your singles, and if you later want to ply them, you'll spin them together counterclockwise. I'm not very good at plying yet. It's one of this year's goals.  Smiley

I'm jealous of all the yarn spinning. Everyone's yarn looks fantastic. 23 days into January and I'm finally getting around to starting my first project. I started a Black Apple doll last night.

Everything looks great Crafty people!
Here is the clutch purse I made for my cousin.  It has a gathered front, a divider inside along with two card holders.

I also made a birthday cake from scratch (it took three frickin tries, stupid mistakes). I wasn't a fan of the cake, it was heavy and not very moist. I have to look for a better recipe.  But the decorating was great.  I will post a picture soon!

I finished one more thing from my list and another that I should have put on my list, if I had been thinking clearly. Roll Eyes

Project the first, repair MIL's crocheted blanket. It had several places where the motifs or squares had come apart at the corners. Took about two hours to finish, but completed.

Project the second, repair and replace several buttons on a pair of long johns. Long johns are much warmer when they can be buttoned up. *nod*

So, that makes three for this year for me.

Awesome! Thanks laughinglark, I will check out those videos when I can reclaim use of the computer!

Klking- for some reason it would only show 2 of the pics from the bathroom, which I had in a separate folder, but they weren't edited or turned like I had saved...weird. Thankfully it pulled up someother pics just fine...I think they'res ghosts in the wires again!

Rottenlittleboys (great name btw) long johns are most certainly warmer when youcan button them!!

Now off to my craft room for more productivity! Got ababy shower a few weekends out and all kinds of cuteness to finish for it!!
