This thread is moving so fast! I can't believe how much we've already accomplished this year as a group!  I finished project three, an Alot plushie for a friend of mine. It turned out to be more of a baby Alot, but that's ok!

   

I actually used T4124's Ivysaur pattern here!!

I like that alot. I was going to try to knit alot for my brother for Christmas, but didn't have the right skills. Maybe I can sew alot now!

What is an Alot?

I have started the leg warmers and only have a couple inches done so far as I was watching a movie while working so was distracted. I am using two yarns that are actually two strands together for both so it's four thin strands. It's a little slow going trying to make sure nothing separates, but I like the effect so far. I'll post a sneak peak when I have more finished.

I learned how to card wool into rolags, item 3 on my list!  My first ones were a hot mess and spun into some lumpy yarn barf, but after getting some youtube help, I got it! I need to be able to draft faster yet, for my new wheel, but I'm getting there. 

 This is dye-sopper wool from the sheep shed studio. My pound that I ordered has all sorts of yummy colors, but they are mostly matted down and not ready to spin without some fiber prep. A great leaning project (and I want to order more already!) Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see what they look like. Mine pretty much looked that way until I carded them. So fun to blend and card together! I'll be sad when I'm out of all this fiber. Luckily, there is still a bunch more the box she sent me.

After I learned how to make my fluffy little rolls of wool, I found it much easier to draft for thinner yarn. This is my first ever thin yarn. It will be plied with something else later on.

I think the Alot is adorable!  Granted - I - like vampedangle - have no idea what an Alot is but he's still cute!

Your yarn is awesome!  Congrats on learning how to card!  And I love the color!  I'm a softie for most things that are green or purple!

Hi all, long time lurker, not so often poster 

So it's taken me 3 days to read all 105 pages. LOL. But I've been crafting while reading.

Im joining in but Im not starting with a list, I'm just going to number things as I do them.
So far I have completed
1- A granny square throw in beige & cream yarn (completed 12th Jan)
2- Find, print out & attach bookplates to books about to be loaned to friends (Jan 15th)
3- Contact books about to be loaned to friends (Jan 15th)
4- Make a t-shirt pillow for my sister out of a t-shirt she couldn't bear to part with but never wears.

Love the bibs & ther aprons. Did you create the pattern or use a commercial one?

That yarn looks beautiful!  And the baby kimono is so sweet!

I'm trying my first new recipe of the month tonight.  It's beef stew from this: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Slow-Cooker-Beef-Stew-IV/Detail.aspx, but I substituted a bag of seasoning mix for the three onions, added garlic, and omitted the red wine.  I'm going to let it cook over night and then sit during the day, and have it for dinner tomorrow.  So far, I've learned that my MIL's crockpot is smaller than mine!  I'm really hoping this cooks down a bit.  Oh, and I used red potatoes, and left the skins on.  I like them that way.  And I minced the carrots, as I don't like cooked carrots.  It's still close enough that I'm calling it that recipe, though.

I am in awe of people who spin their own yarn... I know nothing about it, so you are speaking a different language (which makes it that much more mysterious to me!), but I can say that I love that yarn!
