okay here's my first finished project of 2011.... its a cabled hat from the pattern on ravelry http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/habitat , knit in purple cascade 220. it was a little tricky but the cable pattern came out beautiful. HOWEVER, i just got a really short pixie hair cut last night Shocked and now this hat looks dumb on me, since it is tight and covers all my hair. it would look lot better on someone with longer hair, that comes out of the hat. so...if anyone would like to trade any unwanted they have made craft for this hat, let me know! i just want it to get used.

I saw that hat in Ravelry--it was awesome!

I tuck my hair in my hats anyway--I kinda like the look! Cheesy

At least you probably felt great doing such a complex design!

I hear ya about the hair being short...I got mine cut three times last year(two too many) and I'm always wearing a hat now--waiting for it to grow out!  Tongue
Your knitting is terrific, though!  I've shied away from cables on hats thinking that it would be terribly difficult.

Ooh, that hat is absolutely gorgeous!  The cables and the colors make it look really rich.  I gave up knitting hats for myself because after the second one I realized that I just look plain stupid in all hats, no matter my hair.

Aislynn--berets are flattering to most people--they sort of sit back off your head...I think they look romantic and medieval...my favorite time period! Cheesy

I spent last night cleaning up my room, too!  It feels bigger and more spacious and I can now mess it up again! Cheesy

I think I have made every single one of April Draven's hats!  I am working on a Rainbow Mio hat...I actually sleep in the one I made last year...it keeps me warm!
