I'm so Southern I'm in a whole different hemisphere! Tongue

Cheesy  Well, that certainly makes sense, then!  Is a casserole even called a casserole in Australia?  (I have never before had reason to discuss casseroles with anyone outside the U.S.)

Yep, they're still casseroles or at least they are in Victoria, not sure about the other states

Oh, good point. You never know what those crazy Queenslanders might say.

Ok - y'all crack me up!  I had to go back 4 pages or so and find out exactly why we were talking about being Southern and casseroles and what not.  LOL  Roll Eyes  Yes, American southerners do love their casseroles...  I say this coming from a large family in South Alabama and moving to North Carolina and now having a significant other who's going to become a minister...  Casseroles are fantastic!  And they come in every freakin' variety you can imagine!

So anywho - this post is really to say that I'm still here and I haven't abandoned my list its just been crazy with organizing end of year field trips and preparing for EOG's and everything.  I'm trying to work on my bolero to go with my dress but my students made me drop a few stitches so I'm working up the energy to deal with those.  grrrr.....

Southern potlucks?  ... snort... ask a midwesterner about potlucks.  I take tatertot casserole and green jello to 'share your heritage' events!

A couple of completed projects for me...

That's hilarious!  Cheesy  If we had 'share your heritage' events...  we'd probably take the same thing...  and deviled eggs.  Wink

I made the trek an hour down the road to the ji-gunda (sp?) HUGE (let's go with that) fabric store and spent WAAAAY too much but it gets me a few steps closer to finishing my skirt.  And then I have some wonderful craftster friends sending me more fabric squares!  Oh I can't wait to post pictures!  Cheesy

Epic win Lafemmefatale! That's awesome!

My craft add has struck again! I'm teaching my room mate to sew by making her mom pajama pants for mothers day, we started cutting yesterday only to find out that my pattern wasn't the right size, so now we're adding in a strip down the side and cuffs....how do I talk myself into these things!?! Fortunately my mother's day present has been done for a little while now.

Sorry for opening up a whole can of worms with the casserole discussion!  I have had fun learning more about other parts of the world and their culinary traditions (and linguistics!) but I should probably be a good girl and get back on-topic.

I haven't gotten any projects of my own done over the last few days, that I've had a chance to take pictures of yet.  But I can cross something off my (non-Craftster) to-do list that never made my 50 Projects list - teach 8yo dd to sew.  (I know she still needs more practice, guidance, etc, but there has to be some point at which I decide that's a completed activity!)  I was selected to host the Singer House Party (House Party site, for those who might be lost), and it was yesterday.  We had some other young ladies and their moms come over, and we made simple elastic-waisted skirts.  Now the 3yo wants me to teach her.  Roll Eyes  I told her we'll see about that this summer, but if she's going to use the sewing machine, I need to be able to focus on just her! lol  The girls did great, though. Smiley

That bacon bouquet is awesome!
