I made some organizers for my craft room.  I wanted a way to organize thread and misc. sewing notions but also like the room to be neat and have everything contained.  I've seen lots of pegboard organizers and I like the idea but wanted things to look neater for the times when the craft room has to be a guest room.  These are what I came up with.

I've had this idea in my head for quite awhile and have slowly been making all the bits.  I used the same idea as all those 'jewelry holders behind paintings' I've been seeing here.  Only I made memo boards for the outside.  And inside I built some thread holders and a pegboard.

Here they are hanging on the wall.

Now this is an awesome idea. I like how you made these. Maybe I will try to do something like this for my craft room when we get our house next year.

What a great idea! Very Creative!

Please share your directions.... I would like to see if I can talk my DH into making me 1 or 2 of them.

I absolutely love this. My spools get so very dusty. I wonder if I can make the thread box out of my existing spool stand. Great ideas.

Gotta say, I will be making these, I too want my thread easily accessible, but "put away".  So the posts that the thread are on turn so that the thread can be pulled out, right?  I see knobs at the top.  Did you make them or take apart one and reconstruct?  God, I love this idea!!!!
