I've been working steadily on a lot of paper beads in the last couple months.  I sold four necklaces at a silent auction for work, and am putting a bunch of it up in seasonal craft fairs (not doing well on that front yet).

First, eighty-odd beads made from a poster from work:

and a bunch of necklaces made from various flyers/posters from work:

Other stuff at the unsuccessful craft fair:

I think jewellry preference goes in groups - either everyone loves it or noone does.

Saying that, I love the red and black one, and the malachite one in your first post ^^

Oh, nice! I should do this to the loads and loads of nonsense newsletters we get sneakily handed to us from the side while we're working Cheesy

The orange ones really look like clay Cheesy

these are cool and I personally love the black and white ones. So that tells you everyone is attracted to something different.

That said, my friends who are making $ selling their jewelry say shows are tough since the economy turned. Doing shows you learn where you fit and where the sales are highest. It's trial and error in my experience for us crafty folk. Good luck at you next sale!

Thanks, everybody!  I appreciate the comments! Smiley

Yep!  I saved one of the brownish/orangish ones to really test just how "water-repellent" mod podge can be, since all the listings I've seen of paper beads suggest it's probably not water-proof

Heh, yeah, I started making these because suddenly I was being sent all these catalogs even though I bought ONE thing from the Pyramid Collection!  And then my friend started giving me these random Entertainment Weeklys she keeps being sent even though she canceled the subscription Tongue

Thanks--my table partner is doing a three-day show with our stuff this weekend and everyone there said that tomorrow is THE day, so hopefully it'll go well.

Maybe try selling them on Etsy. You have to pay a small percentage of your sales, but you wouldn't have to pay for a table for only a few hours at a show. I believe I have seen some of these on there, you should look into it!
