Many of my favorites come from Oscar Wilde:
"Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months."
"Selfishness is not living as one wishes to live, it is asking others to live as one wishes to live."
"The aim of life is self-development. To realize one's nature perfectly - that is what each of us is here for."
"The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible."

And some come from Albert Einstein:
"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."
"Whoever undertakes to set himself up as a judge of Truth and Knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods."

But there are others:
"Speak softly but carry a big stick"  -T. Roosevelt
"From now on, ending a sentence with a preposition is something up with which I will not put."  -W. Churchill
"Pain is weakness leaving the body."  -Unknown (but often quoted during basic)

And I declare myself free
from ignorant love. You easy lovers
and forgivers of mankind, stand back !
I will love you at a distance,
and not because you deserve it.
My love must be discriminate
or fail to bear its weight.

-Wendell Berry

Religion is for people who are afraid to go to hell, spirituality is for people who've been there.
-Nate Bordeaux , this one was on a PBS special about Native Americans
And my absolute favorite quote ever.. even if I know I'm nowhere near living up to it, it is something I do try to remember..
People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway. If
you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If
you are successful you will win some false friends and true enemies; Succeed
anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank
anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build
anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give
the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best
you've got anyway You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was
never between you and them anyway.

"The difference between pornography and erotica is lighting."
- Gloria Leonard

And, from my old priest:
"Why would you want to go to heaven? All the fun people are in hell anyhow"
Which is only really funny because it came from a Catholic priest...

Oscar Wilde Smiley

I have a lot of favorites but the best one is probably this one

"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- :
'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'"

I'm the same way. My walls are covered with sharpie written quotes whenever I hear something on the radio or tv I just have to remember.

One of my favorites is political. During the Republican National Convention Arnold said "If you think the government should be accountable to the people, and not the people to the government  you are a Republican"

After I got done laughing, it went straight on my wall.
