Beautious!!
I've been busy crocheting up cotton kitchen towels for Christmas gifts this past week but have managed to spin up 6 bobbins of Shetland for my husband's new horse blanket.
4 skeins hanging (3 grey ~one is not set yet~ and one brownish grey)
2 skeins wound into balls (on arm of couch) and the frame loom DH made for this horse blanket. I'm currently working on making string heddles for this loom to make it easier to weave)

lovely yarns.
80g hand-dyed wool plyed with shimmering turquoise nylon thread
70g grey wool, sturdy and not too soft, for a weaving project
and finally: 85g white wool, going to get acid dyed this evening...

MFL- holy cow that loom is huge!!! Wowzers!
Nesse! I've missed you! The alpaca/angora is soooooooo freaking soft. I'm hoping I have enough for a cowl- my neck would never be cold again.
k_cat- love the blue plied with turquoise thread! Blue + Sparkle = Awesome

Yeah, just finished string heddles for half of it and realized I'm going to have to set up string heddles for the other half of the warp, unless I can figure out something else. 50 heddles for half .... Yikes!!
After a couple of years of going at the dyed colors, I'm back to working with natural colors again. I'm saving enough back so when the color mood hits again I can over dye natural greys & browns though!
With me being out of work (i.e. more time than money) I'm back to working with raw fleeces instead of finished rovings

Hey -- long time lurker here! I figured it was about time to start participating in your Fiber Fridays.
I'll give you a little background: I'm a new spinner, I'm experimenting with drop spindles.
The work posted on Fiber Fridays is always so amazing. I check back every week to see what's new.
Great work this week. I do wonder... do you all do this in just one week? (If so, damn you're fast!) I really like your alpaca & angora freestyle. That looks SO SOFT!
Nesse, I wanted to say that I like seeing the "before" roving and the "after" spun yarn. I often wonder how that dyed roving's going to look. Awesome work.
Well, here's my work: about 54ish yards of black alpaca, bulky weight (about 7wpi), two ply.
This is my first try at plying. Ever! It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be and I'm really happy with how it turned out.
(It seems that craftster won't let me post photos yet.)
Just a side note.. anyone have tips for photographing yarn? My photos always turn out pretty lifeless and uninteresting.
(Yay.. my first Fiber Friday!)
