I received two perfectly "me" packages yesterday!

First up, she goes la sent me an altered journal with the theme "70's fashion".

I had listed that theme thinking if anyone chose to make it for me, it would be lingering hippie or stoner fashion.  I love those styles too, but I am thrilled with this delightful young lady from that era.  She's obviously southern like me ( hence the white gloves in the 70's).  No matter what else we were in those days, this girl lived in each and every one of us here in the south.  I love her flip, I love her dress, I love love those gloves.  It's just wonderful!

and a bit closer  ( my camera doesn't do close up well)

I've actually decided to journal my life in that decade in this journal.  I'm not morbid; just have a very comfortable view of death, and I think when I die it would sure break up the sad mood if my kids found that journal and sat and read it together.  I love visualizing that. Cheesy

Next up is the thrilling package I got from Banga.  I love handcrafted note cards so very much.  I know I could make my own, but it thrills me to receive them in swaps.  Banga sent me the most wonderful collection of note cards you can imagine.  My daughter even got excited when I opened them because she knows how much I hate using most store bought cards (there are exceptions).

She made this pink assortment and I adore each and every one.  There are several of the Betty White ones ( who wouldn't smile getting that in the mail?).  My favorite in this batch is the wreath of leaves.  I don't know if you can tell, but some of the leaves are printed and I'm a sucker for anything with words on it.  Actually; I'm a sucker for anything made of paper.  I hate email, I hate Kindel (?) and Nook, I despise Facebook... I like to write letters, read newspapers and books, and make phone calls ( okay, phone calls are not paper... oh well).  Oops, let me crawl off my soapbox and show you the rest.

These are store bought but I had to show them too.  They are definitely an exception to the handmade only rule.  I can't stand the thought of birds of any kind in cages... ever, for any reason.  I love these cards and fully intend to try to find more.

Now for my absolute favorite.  She sent a bunch of these remarkably perfect cards. I love not only letters and words, but also fonts!  I love these so much!  These will go only to very special people in my life.

and a bit closer:

Banga, please feel free to claim me for note cards over and over again!

Thanks so much she goes la and Banga.  I love my new goodies!

I received my parcel from Kitten Wrangler - she made me an adorable Buttercup bag - the lining of the bag is white with black circles and scissors all over -  I love it (and so does my daughter too - she insisted that we "share" it, but so far I only had my hands on it long enough to take the picture!!)

Thanks so much, we love it!  Grin
