Hey all. Cheesy

If there's one episode my whovian friends and I love the best of New Who, it would have to be "Blink". It's the first ep we show to anyone we want to hook into Doctor Who and it has to be the one we've all watched and re-watched the most.

I've always wanted to make a Who-themed shirt and I recently bought one of the 7 piece Pentel pastel fabric dye sticks. This is the end result:

(apologies for the bathroom shot, it's the only place with a mirror with decent lighting. I flipped the photo so the writing can be read.)

(the color is closer to how it is in reality here, but the angle's weird because I hung it up from a high nail and took the picture at an upwards slant.)

This is basically a test project for me with the fabric pastels. I didn't want to spend any money buying a new shirt for this so I used one of my brother's old shirts (which survived a flood, hence the weird fading and stains). I had to resize it since it was all baggy on me. And it had a logo print in the front, it can be seen if you stare at the tardis really closely. I had to color over it. I didn't even bother with the logo on the back of the shirt. It's still there. *sigh*

I did the whole thing freehand, sketched it with chalk first before using the pastels. I only used three colors: white, blue, and yellow. I didn't like how the color was muted when I first ironed it, with paper over it like the directions in the box stated. I re-colored it and ironed it again without the paper on top and resulting brightness was much better. I wasn't as careful as I should have been so some of the blue from the tardis ended up on other parts of the shirt because of the color smudging against my hands and from my hands to the shirt. So, yeah. fail!me. But even with the smudges and the barely hidden logo, I am loving this shirt and I can't wait to wear it out. :p

Great job on the tshirt,  I actually like  the distressed look to the fabric , makes it look a bit like you've been angel-ed yourself! But wait... that means you're from the future... which means... you've seen the Christmas special! Not fair! Angry

Seriously though love the tshirt  Smiley

Thank you both for the comments. EbbyB: yes, the angels are terrifying. They have to be the best New Who villains. monkeybuttons: I kinda like the distressed look too. Oh, I wish I were from the future and have seen the special already. We've been waiting forever for Christmas to come
