I am fairly new to crochet, but absolutely loving making little ami figures for friends and family. I am in the middle of a Nativity set that is going to be a Christmas gift for my MIL - and one section is asking me to sc around and down the length of a pipe cleaner to make the Shepherd's hook. I am sure it's something simple that I am just not seeing, but could someone explain how this is done? I can get the first sc done and then I am not sure where to hook in after that to keep going down the pipe cleaner   Shocked  It is the pattern from Gourmet Crochet if anyone else has already done this and would be willing to help a newbie out   Embarrassed

Thanks in advance for any help!

I think it's pretty much like anything in the round, you just keep going around and around, going down the length of the pipe cleaner.

I did a search for a video tutorial showing crochet around a pipe cleaner and couldn't find one, BUT, this video showing how to crochet around a ring is the same way you would do it around the pipe cleaner...Hope it helps clear things up for you...Good luck!

oh my gosh THANK YOU!!!   Cheesy  I did the same thing looking for a vid for an example, but never even thought about looking for a ring! I *totally* see now what I was doing wrong, I was trying to do the sc's from the top, not hooking underneath the wire, this makes complete sense now!

Thanks again so much, I will try and post some pics of this set once I get it all completed!   Grin
