Simplicity Pattern - So Easy - 2309

This pattern is so easy compared to the other Newsboy Hats.  I used fleece and cotton.

The hat crown is a darted circle, the band and brim.  How easy is that.

Ooh! I want one! How do you get it to keep it's shape?

Working a sewing machine is harder to than driving a JCB. No, really.

To keep its shape, the lining, band and brim are interfaced, also the darts in the crown helps to maintain the shape.

For the brim I used a stiff pellon (like a heavier weight interfacing).  I top stitched the brim, but it's not a step in the pattern.

I used fleece and cotton cause I had it in my stash, but you can use denim (I made one from an old pair of jeans), lightweight tweeds or wool blends.

Thanks Sandor, I'm getting so many compliments on my hat.  I get a huge kick out of saying "I made it."

You're welcome Star.  I hope you try the pattern this is my first sewn hat.
