(I am so not good at doing the whole picture thing, but thought we could use a snazzy icon to maybe make this thread easier to notice.)

I've done a little searching, and don't think there is already a thread for specifically for this. I've been a Craftster for almost 2 years now, but there are still things I don't know how to do/use on this website. For instance... tables. Don't know what they're for, don't know how to use them.
Have you ever run into this problem? I got the idea of starting a thread where we could have detailed instructions, hopefully with pictures as well, that show how to do things that seem to come so easily to others. I was given the idea in the Ongoing Offer What You Have Swap. Here is the first thing I have to contribute, please feel free to post whatever you think is helpful information on how to do different things, or questions if something is not understandable.

How do I copy my entire last post if I'm in an Ongoing Swap to include all the images
If you go to your last post, and just copy it right there, you will lose all of your pictures. Instead, try this out:

Go to your last claim and click modify

It'll look like this after you click modify

Then highlight everything and copy.

and then you can just back out of that screen, or exit out, and paste it into new your post.

Forgot I have another one:
How do I post my pictures so they show right next to each other, instead of under each other?

I had to go into one of my old posts and experiment cause I've never tried this one before.
Normally when you post 2 pictures it would look like this:
Code:
[img width=375 height=500]http://www.craftster.org/pictures/data/500/medium/167891_10May10_100_1450.JPG[/img]

[img width=500 height=375]http://www.craftster.org/pictures/data/500/medium/167891_10May10_100_1455.JPG[/img]

That puts one directly under the other.

To make them post right next to each other, post both images directly next to each other with no space, like this:
Code:
[img width=375 height=500]http://www.craftster.org/pictures/data/500/medium/167891_10May10_100_1450.JPG[/img][img width=500 height=375]http://www.craftster.org/pictures/data/500/medium/167891_10May10_100_1455.JPG[/img]
Basically, back that second image tag mumbojumbo up, so that where one ends and the other begins there is no space. ][

To get more in a line, use the thumbnail version! Smiley

Oh, I have one for you, too!  You can use the Insert Code button to show examples of code in your posts (perfect for instructional threads like this one!).  It looks like this on the second layer of buttons

For example, I wanted to show someone how to type a shortened link, I could explain it and then show them this code sample:
Code:

I think I've fallen in love with Craftster again, insert code! I'm such a geek, I know, but that makes life so much easier! I'm going to update my directions tonight with that, should make them easier to see too!

MMmMm, tables!  Delicious tables.

Inserts a table.  It can't be used alone, or it makes no sense.
Code:
[table][/table]

Inserts a row into a table.  This also can't be used alone.
Code:
[tr][/tr]

Inserts a column into a table.  This also can't be used alone.
Code:
[td][/td]

Sample table:
Partner 1Partner 2Project Theme
sweets4everpixievalglitter
jungrrlbatgirlbirds

Built from this code:
Code:
[table]
[tr]
[td]Partner 1[/td]
[td]Partner 2[/td]
[td]Project Theme[/td]
[/tr]
[tr]
[td]sweets4ever[/td]
[td]pixieval[/td]
[td]glitter[/td]
[/tr]
[tr]
[td]jungrrl[/td]
[td]batgirl[/td]
[td]birds[/td]
[/tr]
[/table]

ooh I was good until I got to the table example. I'll have to come back to that when my brain is fully  powered. Great thread pixieval! I love sweets' "Did you know?" series!

Mare, would it make more sense if the table code was shown this way?

Sample table:
Code:
[table]
[tr][td]Partner 1[/td][td]Partner 2[/td][td]Project Theme[/td][/tr]

[tr][td]sweets4ever[/td][td]pixieval[/td][td]glitter[/td][/tr]

[tr][td]jungrrl[/td][td]batgirl[/td][td]birds[/td][/tr]
[/table]

Basically tr gives you a row, but you need tds for the colums.
