I searched the forum first and didn't find this question.  Can one stamp onto vellum paper?

Yes, you can stamp on Vellum.

Use dye based inks like Memento, Stampin Up Classic, Palette Hybrids, etc...

Pigment Inks will smear. You can heat set them with your heat gun but even after several hours they still smear. I have even used embossing powder too and still got a smear.

If you want to emboss your Vellum. You can do this trick:

Ink up your stamp with VersaMark.

Then Ink up the same stamp with your dye ink.

Stamp your image

Add embossing powder and coat your image. Put the rest of the embossing powder back in the jar.

Quickly heat set the image. Make sure you only heat set until you melt the powder. You will burn your paper if you heat set too long.

I use Stazon to stamp on Vellum.  Dries fast and you can also color it.  Smiley  Good luck!

You can dry any ink--even pigment by applying the Perfect Crafting Pouch after stamping. It also improves printing on vellum with an inkjet printer like you wouldn't believe  and dries the ink instantly. It does a bunch of other things too like stops bleeding when stamping or using markers on twill tape or to stop those annoying xyron sticky things that are the edge of diecuts... You can check it out on Youtube.com/scraperfect. There are a whole bunch of videos showing lots of cool things you can use the pouch for.

Stayzon works a treat everytime for me. It stays put and you can do whatever you like to it after and it ain't budging!!  Inks like TH distress inks that are water based you can use to colour vellum. Using your heat tool you can 'burn' the ink into the vellum. It causes it to become harder in texture but if you use a brown ink gives the effect of old parchment paper. That trick also works with glimmer mist and vellum. I have a youtube tutorial if you want the link, pm me :-)
