My friend asked me to make an apron for her little girl for Christmas - she loves helping her mum and dad in the kitchen and gets very messy in the process. I found some nice bright fabric at ikea and sewed it with sparkly thread (like lots of little girls she loves things that sparkle). Best of all I got a snow day from work which gave me time to finish it! that leaves only another few presents to craft before Christmas....

I make aprons so that one cord runs through for the neck and waist strap. I got the idea from an apron someone brought into work one day.

And close up of the silver thread.

It's really neat fabric and sparkles are always good!  Using the same strap is a great idea as it's all adjustable with a minimum of fuss.  Are the white parts channels for the strap?

yup that's right - because it was a pattern fabric i didn't have enough that was plain to do the strap channels so used white instead. not the most practical colour but they seemed to like it which is the main thing.
