I will anaylize and try to do some counting for Gir and see if I can get a pattern written up for those interested.

Both the zipper and tongue are made from felt, and I just used embroidery floss for the details.

Wow! Thanks so much for adding the pattern. Now that I see your instructions for the head, it makes sense. Seems like a good way to get the Gir head shape.

My first (picture) post! (the site won't let me post a pic until I had posted 10x in the forums to prove I wasn't a spambot) I was looking for a Gir pattern, and came across yours and HAD to make it. My son's GF loves Gir, and I have never attempted Amigurumi before, so.....Here's my attempt using your pattern. I changed things a little because I couldn't find my felt. I crocheted the tongue and zipper, and I made the legs the same as the feet. Thanks for posting a great pattern.

I altered your pattern to make Gir about twice the original size--he now stands at around 11 inches tall.



I was very happy with the way it turned out--thank you so much for posting this pattern! It's a gift for a friend and I'm sure that he's going to love it.
