Button Encrusted Christmas Stocking

As soon as signups went up for the Christmas Stocking Swap Round 6, I IMMEDIATELY knew what I wanted to make.  I just hoped and prayed that whomever I ended up with for a partner would LOVE the idea...boy was I in luck!  murbeck was my partner in this swap and she was TOTALLY down for a button-encrusted stocking.

This is what I came up with after mulling over what to put on here that wasn't going to be too hard to reproduce in buttons, and wasn't religious-oriented, but still festive.



I'm head over heels THRILLED with how this came out!!!!  I ADORE this and SOOOOOOOO wanted to keep it when I was done.  murbeck, you're one lucky lady, lemme tell ya

Oh, the HOURS that went into this!!  I have a picture in my head for what I want to put on my next stocking for myself.  Gotta stock up on more buttons

i absolutely love this! i don't really have christmas decor yet...my home is too small for storage and to have any of it, but i would love to have a few of these for my own stockings.....purel y amazing!

Nope, totally handmade by me.  I have a stocking pattern I cut out, cut batting to pad between inside and outside fabrics, and put on the buttons and bias tape to complete.

We decided not to put up a tree this year, as another family member is hosting Christmas Day at their house, but we are decorating with stockings and garland and a few Hallmark motion ornaments to keep it festive around our place.  I have less than 30 days before the holiday to get another one completed...or I can just plan on it for next year LOL!

omg, that is AMAZING. my least favorite part of sewing after making button holes, is sewing on the buttons! that must have taken hours!
