I was inspired by Amydice's Coraline doll

to craft my own little hero, Frodo Baggins.  I wasn't sure where to post him, as his body and hair are crocheted, but his clothes are knitted.

Here he is with his hood down and again from the back.

I still need to find him some fancy buttons for his jacket and a tiny leaf for his elf-brooch.

That is adorable!
Freaky... I just watched that movie for the first time in two years today and now this, plus new yarn and hooks arrive in the mail. I think somebody's trying to tell me something...

Thank you!

Yeah, I watched the movie (extended version) while I worked on him.

Gotta reread the book again soon.  It's my favorite.

Adorable! Frodo is one of my favourite fictional characters - I'm in the middle of re-reading the books at the moment. I really like the knitted cloak, it's hard to make crochet as fine as that so the knitted clothes work really well.

I know I'm reviving an old thread, but I wanted to share that Frodo and I are currently in New Zealand, doing what I call 'The Total Tolkien Immersion Tour'. We've visited Hobbiton and are currently at 'Mt. Doom'. We'll be travelling down to Wellington for The Hobbit premiere, then to Christchurch and Queenstown.

Frodo is blogging our adventures as we go, so if you'd like to follow us, the blog is at katehalleron.blogspot.com.
