I'm not sure if this is an obscure reference or not, but it's a quote from Terry Gilliam's The Adventures of Baron Munchausen Smiley

My husband and I both like this quote, and it fits our view of reality Wink so I decided to cross-stitch it for his birthday. The quote alone seemed too dull, so I added some clay figures on the side. They're from another scene in the movie where Munchausen et al are escaping the moon--they are hanging from a rope tied to the moon, but it's too short, so they cut the top part off to tie to the bottom Smiley
(I wanted to make Munchausen busting through the fabric on a horse, but alas, that was a bit too daunting :p)

Thanks for looking!

I love it! The little clay Baron was a great idea.

Neat! Never heard of the Baron, but with a quote like that, it seems as though I'd like the character.  Smiley

Super cute! Lol, I love that movie. For a min, I thought it was an Elizabethan trans of Adam Savage's catchphrase, " I reject your reality and substitute my own." It is close!  Cheesy
