I'm in school to be a NICU Nurse and I thought it would be cool to do a swap that involves people's careers. For example, for a marine biologist, make something to do with the ocean, etc, etc.

I think that's one of the hardest careers!
This is quite a chalenging one.. I'm a geologist myself Smiley And I work with ceramics/clay (it had to be linked to craftiness, right?)

I've just remembered something.. I'm so nuts that I colect bricks and.. humm how do you call to those ceramics things that we put on the roof? roofing tile?
Well, everytime I see a construction work and different bricks and tile, I can't help myself and "steal" one. My room is full of bricks, tiles and my mum even bought me a magazine with some tile crafting ideas...
Most of my geologists friends just dig volcanos, fossils and rocks. I have this thing with ceramic Wink
But shhhhh, don't tell anyone!

I feel bad...i'am just a student...doing my masters....but even after gradyation it;s going to be a career in Human resources! I think little non-crafty...could we list what we are interested in rather that what we are studying to be! (now that i think of it...maybe it woud have been a good idea to study what i was actually interested in!)

I can think of stuff for a social worker! also for the scientist who works with trees!

I think we would craft for smeone else based on thier career right?

...i'am just a student...doing my masters....
'Just' and 'doing my masters' definitely do NOT belong in the same sentence.
Brava for the educated crafting ladies!

I'm not to sure about that. I think we need to brainstorm for ideas because this swap seems a little complicated.

No one would want to be my partner Sad  I work in "Quality Systems"!!  It involves testing the processes for effectiveness and efficiency, LOL.  It's horribly drab...and not exactly my desired career.  But I want to craft for other peoples careers Sad

Maybe we could do "Who we are, or who we want to be!"  That way... those lucky bums who are in their desired profession can get what they want... but people like me... who aren't quite there yet, could get crafted items geared towards a profession "we hope to be in someday"

What do you think?

LOL... I wanna see pix... now you have me curious!
I was in a part of town called "Victorian Village"... they were restoring one of the olddddd houses...and they had these bricks that were part of the front of the house, but they has ceramic round tiles embedded in them...the tiles were really intricate... I think that's why they made me think of you.

I wish I would stop seeing the boring construction sites though... I still blame those on you, lol.

I was thinking the same thing!!  I guess for us it would have to be something for our kids.  Either that or something nice to pamper ourselves with!

I think this idea is really cool.  Since I'm a bad girl and only lurk around here on Crafster while I'm at my day job, I 1.) can't participate enough in discussions to fufill the requirements to participate in a swap; and 2.) obviously have a job that I don't love and wouldn't make a good candidate for this swap.  But I think it's a tremendously creative idea!

Oh, and for moms, maybe a mirror to see yourself as a person, not just as an adjunct to your "job" (come to think of it, maybe we all need one of those!).
