Found this fabric at Hancock's this summer and now I have created the glory that is "THE BLONDIE DRESS"!!!

It's my own pattern. Remember the green "sewing comic" dress i posted? Well it's the same bodice but a half circle skirt. This is MY style. The cut fits my bootylicious hourglass figure and creates a high waistline (not empire) that looks classic and flattering. This is not in Lane Bryant or any other store on the face of this Earth. It has frustrated me so quite some time with RTW and how it falls short for me every time. It's really been a long journey to get to this dress. This is the dress I have had in my head to wear for the last 5 years. I finally MADE one. Now there will be more!

Ladies, if it's in your head there is no reason why you can't create it and wear it. It took me years to get to the this point (learning about drafting and creating slopers and making dress dummies) but I DID IT!

I yammer more about it on my blog but for sure I am super excited that I can make more of this dress and play with more collars and sleeves!

This dress is wicked cool!  So flattering on you, everything from the shape to the color palette works well.  Really good job.

What a nice fit!  Shows off your hourglass figure to perfection!  And the Blondie print....Aaahhh!  Your are so right about where the waist line should be on an hourglass figure, a higher waist almost always makes me look prego and lower makes my hips look bigger throwing off my proportions.  Now I'm off to hit "This Rocks!"
