Crafts can't keep me busy all the time!

I FINALLY finished my late Christmas gift and am now making progress on my swap hoops.

Thought I'd post a pic so my partners know what I've been up to, besides moving!

I made silhouettes of a friend's dogs. Stitched on 18 count Aida using two strands and put in a 5x7 frame. I used nearly an entire skein of black thread but am quite proud of it now. It was the first time I made my own pattern and the first time using 18 count fabric.

Now back to my swap stitching!

I love that dog picture! it's so detailed, and  the black and white is striking.

I finally figured out my design...I found a cool embroidery on my partner's wist and just thought of a way to integrate the idea I was already thinking of. Now I just need to get back to my stash of floss to find all the colors I need!

Phew finally manahed to get both hoops posted out, and this is what I've been doing since I finished them before Christmas. I've posted it on here already but since it's teeny tiny I thought it was in keeping with this swap (although not a hoop it is less than 2 inches tall) I hope you don't mind me posting this little pic!

DONE!  I signed them while yelling at The Fashion Show (stupid Calvin is so annoying).  Probably package them up tomorrow and put them in the mail on Thursday.

i came home tonight to a bag hanging on my front door knob. just a plastic every day grocery bag.

except this one has 3 six inch, 6 seven inch, 5 eight inch, 5 nine inch and 3 ten inch hooops in it.  Cheesy

no note, no explanation.  i was starting to think the hoop fairy came to see me and forgot to bring the metallic jewel tone floss i am yearning for.

turns out.  even better than the hoop fairy.  it was my dad.  Smiley i guess he approves of my hoop wall. swear words and all.

mink_bikini - that little gingerbread house is so adorable! What a cute tiny little ornament. Love it.

sloth - your Dad is awesome. That is so sweet of him! And now you have no excuse for not participating in R4 of the Hoopla Smiley.
