Alright, I've got 3" and 4" hoops now.  I promptly put them all on the cat and she was not pleased.

I can't even begin to imagine sending my husband to the fabric store, even for notions.  It would be similar to sending him to Mars.  However, maybe he'll learn a few things this weekend.  For my 30th we're going to NYC to stay with some friends who live in Queens.  Since it's my birthday (and a big one at that) and we're going to be in New York I have a $200 fabric budget.  Weeeeeeeeeeee!  Good deli sandwiches, the Met (especially the costume design part), and fancy fashion fabric!  I'm so excited I could burst.

Anyone have any fabric stores they'd recommend?

I visited a friend in CT in October and we went in to Manhattan a couple of days.  The one place I really wanted to go to was Purl Soho. http://www.purlsoho.com/purl  I spent a lot of money there and could have spent tons more!  They have such beautiful things!

Not exactly a fabric store, but you should check out the Built by Wendy boutiques. She sells great patterns and books for sewing and cute clothes to boot Smiley

www.fatquartershop.com is my favorite online fabric store.

imafundork - I heart Purl! I've made trips to NYC just for that shop Smiley.

I'd never even try to send my boyfriend to the craft shop without an exact article number or something, if I'd go as far as send him at all Cheesy At the very least, the information he'd get would be "here's a piece of what I need, now ask the nice person in the store to go get exactly this amount of it" Roll Eyes Though I was shocked to find him seriously looking at yarns when we were at a fabric store last summer! I mean they only had crap yarns, but he'd suddenly selected two yarns and asked me to make him something with it, so I had to buy them, to encourage the behaviour Roll Eyes I haven't been able to find anything I could possibly make of it yet though, that would suit his tastes.

"That's my lab table and this is my work-stool. And over there is my intergalactic spaceship! And here's where I keep assorted lengths of wire."

...oh, if it wasn't clear, I'm rarely completely serious. Smiley

I LOVE both the Last Unicorn and Yoga hoops! Great work! Smiley

I ebayed my hoops, i keep buying out the market craft stall of their smallest hoops, and my local craft shop has only has 3 hoops there, a 4inch 6inch and 10inch wooden hoop which are quite expensive Tongue

My boyfriend is surprisingly good at helping me with creative decisions, he'll suggest cuter ideas, and is always really supportive of me crafting stuff! But I wouldn't be brave enough to let him shop completely by himself Tongue

The yoga hoop turned out great. I love the way you visualized the tree pose perfectly!

LOVE the unicorn! Of course, I like unicorns! It's lovely!

I am currently working on an Egret in the Everglades hoop for my Mom for Christmas. I'll post pics when I get done.

You ladies are pretty lucky with your craft-patient/enabling SO's.  Mine gets irritated if he's got to use my laptop b/c my homepage is...Craftster.  duh!  Who's isn't?!?  He asked me once, how do you get your news if you spend so much time on craftster?  I said, "Um, that's what twitter is for."  heh heh.  He didn't find that humorous at all.

Knitting goal for 2011: knit 500,000 stitches.  24,078/500,000 knit.  I think I'm going to need more yarn...
