My friends are having a baby girl, so I whipped up this little number today:

I made it on size 8 circular needles
Cast on 64 stitches
k1, p1 for 5 rows
Knit in St st for 25 more rows
Decrease as follows, switching to double points when necessary:
*K2tog, K6*, repeat * to end of row
knit one row
*K2tog, K5*, repeat * to end of row
knit one row
*K2tog, K 4*, repeat * to end of row
knit one row
*K2tog, K3*, repeat * to end of row
knit one row
*K2tog, K2*, repeat *to end of row
knit one row
*K2tog, K1*, repeat * to end of row
knit one row
*K2tog*, repeat * to end of row
cut yarn leaving a long tail, thread through the remaining stitches
weave in ends.

Owl is made out of felt and teeny buttons from Wal Mart.

Aww, that's so cute. The colours are great and I love that the owl's face is a heart. Smiley
