I'm so excited about these. They're my first sewing project, my first clothing project...lots of firsts!
I saw some really cute baby sweater pants on etsy, and thought...I really need to learn how to knit! So I went and got a ball of yarn, knitting needles, and a book. I can now do a knit stitch! Still having trouble with that elusive purl stitch though! Anyway, I was a LONG way away from sweater pants, so I did some looking around and found several tutorials for making adult sweaters into baby pants! This seemed a lot more managable!

Went to the thrift store, picked out this sweater, was a juniors size medium, and came home. The tut was how to make pants out of the sleeves....but the sleeves were too short, being a juniors size medium and all....so I basically used the body of the sweater to cut the pattern pieces for a pair of pants, and made these babies! It is still the look I was after, so its all good!  I love the crazy colors...and they're pretty cozy too! (I have another fine merino wool sweater to make another pair, which will be even cozier! Smiley) but these are just cotton/acrylic blend.

Here he is, modeling his new pantalones.

perfect for just lounging, playing the xylophone...

standing up shot...

boring product shot.

Thanks for looking!
