Yay! Christmas is right around the corner! I've made melt and pour soap before http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=323071.msg3727661#msg3727661 with easy molds. But this year I wanted to give soaps as a gift (mostly because im so broke >_<)

I bought 1lb of goats milk soap from Micheals Craft store for $9.99

Then I bought scents from Save on scents http://saveonscents.com/ Which is amazing by the way. I bought:
Trix cereal
Banana nut bread
Cotton Candy
Bubble gum
Victoria Secret Love Spell
Hazlenut Cappuccino
French toast

All of them in 1 oz bottles, and SOS except the Trix I bought as a super concentrated formula. The cost + S&H was $23.61, and they were here in four days. I love SaveOnScents!! By the way, the 1 oz bottles last forever!! I use about a half a cap full of the scent in each batch of soap, so it lasts longer.

I cut three cubes out of the brick of soap (which is already lightly preferated)

Then melted them in a cup. And added some food dye for color. One cup was a tan color, the other was pink.

Then I bought a donut mold from eBay user Flexiblemolds.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230400634586&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT It costs $13.45 (S&H included) and got here in just three days! Awesome service, the mold was perfect and works amazing! I dont need any releasing agent, it just pops right out! Be sure to check out the other fantastic molds they have for sale!! http://stores.ebay.com/FlexibleMolds-for-Wax-Soap-Crafts

Then I poured the pink soap into a bowl, and dipped the doughnut soap right into in.

Finished product

I also put cake sprinkles on top, but because the soap had already cooled down, they did not stick  Sad I figured, I would just place the doughnut in the microwave for 3 seconds so it could slightly melt enough to stick to the sprinkles...bad idea. The entire thing melted in an instant. Leaving me with a puddle of pink/tan soap.  Cry

I learned my lesson so you wont have to  Grin

All the supplies cost:

Scents-------               23.61
Mould--------               13.45
Soap---------                9.99
___________________________
                                  $47.05

The soap makes about 10, maybe 11 bars. But there is enough scent for tons more batches. I plan on going to Michaels and buying more melt and pour soap. So the initial cost is a bit steap, but upkeep is just 9.99 for 10 more soaps.

Very cute! I would definitely recommend buying your mp base online, it should be about $2.50 a pound if you buy it in bulk, definitely offsets the shipping cost!
