I've made ever so much lately, and haven't posted about any of it, so I'm making a start here. I made this bag for my friend Chloe out of fabric I found at Vinnies and a quilting fabric I got on sale - the outer is the vintage fabric, the inner and the pin is the quiliting fabric (Island Princess will recognise the outer as the same fabric as the wallet I sent). I was inspired by Sushimifune's rounder bottomed bag. Basically, all I did to draft the pattern was draw a big 'ole circle, then, around 1.5-2cm below the first circle, I drew a second circle. In the sliver between the first and second circle I drew around five darts. I cut four of these circles - two outer, two inner - and from two of the outer and inner circles I cut off around a 3rd to make room for the flap. I hope that makes sense.

Anyhoozle, it's a great kick to see friends using the things I make.

Fun bag, I love the bright colors! Nice work on the kansashi... for the life of me, I can't get flowers to turn out like that.

Trust me, I have no idea how I did it! I get the feeling I didn't do it properly. It was kind of like folding a paper crane, but after folding the square you fold it in half again and - actually, I'm probably making it harder. The only bit of advice I can really give is to use PVA glue instead of hot glue, because PVA bonds much more firmly. Also, taking a screwdriver to one of those pins they hand out all over the place at school is a great way to get a pinback...
