I adore your quilt!
The lady at my craft shop told me to buy cheap gardening gloves to Free motion quilt, and they work a treat!

Yeah, I'd read that tip somewhere, so I tried an extra (unused!) set of dishwashing gloves I had laying around but I guess they just weren't nubby enough. LoL.

I think it is soooo beautiful! My daughter does too and she wants me to make one for her! Where did you find the pattern? I am just a beginner myself, so will need lots of advice. Thanks for adding your must have's, that helps alot!

Thankies! Smiley I linked to my inspirational layout in the original post but the pattern is just a disappearing 9-patch, you can google instructions fairly easy. Smiley Pretty easy for a beginner and looks way more complicated than it really is.

Oh! Also google up "speed piecing nine patch" or something similar. Made everything go way smoother and helped with keeping lines looking better. Cheesy

I'll post up actual measurements for the quilt tomorrow, I used the full width of a twin sheet for the backing though so it's definitely wide enough for one, not sure on length but I would hazard a guess it would fit. I bought 24 fat quarters (1 light and 1 dark each of pink, red, orange-red, orange, golden yellow, yellow, green, dark green, light blue, dark blue, purple and violet/magenta). There will be fabric left over you can incorporate into your backing or whatever you think of (I think I might do a pillowcase with mine or a throw pillow). My backing is just a $4 twin sheet from Wal-Mart. xD The freemotion stuff was done with a Coats and Clark embroidery thread, not sure on name or anything but it's just a rainbow variegated. I only used one spool for everything (and that included a lot of ripping until I got the tension set right) and still have a little left over.

You sure are going to be busy. And it sounds like you're hooked on quilting. Looking forward to your next creations.
