I hope this is the right board to ask...  Undecided
I'm talking about the silvery one with the beaded hare worn with the Christmas tree dress in Slughorn's Christmas party,
in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

I can't seem to find any close-up pictures of the bracelet though.

It is also discussed in one of the DVD extras, which you can see on Youtube:

So basically what I wanted to ask is:
1. What is that silvery stuff?
2. How would you make it or think it is made? If you can find a tutorial on the net somewhere or briefly explain it, that'll be great.
3. If this had been discussed on another board, can you post the link? I did a search but I couldn't find anything.
Thanks so much if you could help!

Looking at it in the video, the silvery stuff appears to be that sparkly wire decoration stuff that you can find at dollar stores around Christmas and New Years.  It's like tinsel, but wrapped around a wire so it's bendable.  The hare appears to be beaded, like the radishes, but I don't have experience with that kind of beading so I'm no help there.

I think the best way to make it would be to get a piece of tinsel, fold a section about as long as your wrist into the middle of the tinsel, fold the "tails" towards the center of the section, wrap one around the other, trim one of the "tails" and use the other to make the spiral bits around the hare.  Then thread ribbon through the ends of the section to make the ribbon closure.  Attach the hare to the bracelet inside the spiral bits with some wire.

I hope that made some sense and is helpful at all...I can try to draw it out if that made no sense.

Thanks so much for your thoughts. I would really like it if you drew it out because it's really confusing trying to read it. Cheesy If that is okay with you...
I get the ribbon and the attaching the hare part but everything about the tinsel is making my head spin.  Huh

I'm actually planning on making it myself sometime. It's a 3D beaded rabbit (looks like gold seed beads). The tinsel wire is spot on. And it also looks like a silver ribbon to tie around the wrist. I found a really good image from behind the scenes on Luna Fans (great for any hi-res images of Luna).

Just click on the picture; it should bring up a larger image.

If it doesn't, I saved the larger picture and can try and post it here.

I'm sorry this is a super late response, I forgot about this thread until recently going through my "replies to your posts" page.  I made a really crude picture but I hope it helps a bit, at least as a starting point.
