I love to make rainbow cakes so when my daughter asked for a rainbow birthday I was all over it. I love to look at them.

The cake is white cake colored in rainbow colors. The rainbows are made from melting chocolate and the "clouds" are just buttercream.

Oh. My. God.

I'm in love.

Will you adopt me and do my rainbow birthday party?

Now that's intense.

Did you color the chocolate or does it come that way? It looks like rainbow welding, which is superbly awesome. Smiley

WOW! SO CUTE! How'd you get the rainbow effect? Did you have to make 6 different bowls of batter and add them in one-by-one?

My five year old had a rainbow birthday party just two months ago! Great minds huh?

I didn't have the patience to make cupcakes, so I made full sized cakes with concentric rings of colours, instead of rainbow layers. I also made rainbow meringues, and cookies, and layered jellies. You can see all the rainbow goodies here http://silvermoon-dragon.blogspot.com/2010/12/kids-cooking-thursday-rainbow.html

It was a great excuse to break out my giant rainbow flag leftover from my teenaged self's bedroom decor too.

Rainbows make me happy.

I wish we had the coloured melting chocolate like you guys do in the States. I love those rainbow toppers.
