My SO's cousin asked me to help her make a Mrs. Potatohead costume a couple of weeks before Halloween to go out with some family as characters from Toy Story. This costume was quite the adventure, we had to change how it was going to look a couple of times and at point was afraid it wasn't going to fit.

She asked for my help because the other options looked like this:

We used items from the actual Mrs. Potatohead (yellow hat) and the one from Toy Story (pearly earrings) just depending on what was easier.

We took a a clown hat from Joann's tore off the rainbow band, covered it in yellow felt then reattached the flower.

This is the cutest Nephew every modeling the hat, pearls and gloves.

Night of Halloween

Taking the boys trick or treating

The costume slipped over her head and there was a slit down the neck with a tie to keep it closed.  the facial features and ears are filled with fiber fill and attached separately to look like the detachable and attachable pieces Mrs. Potatohead comes with. It turned out so much cuter than I ever thought it would be.

You should have put it in the Craftster Challenge--I would have voted for you!
