here is the flannel version of the toy giraffe that I created the other day as well as a taggy toy. they were happily received at the little one's shower today. I found out that it's easier for me to sew around curves then a simple straight sewing stitch. but it could have been the darn slippery/stretchy minky fabric.

I'm def hooked on sewing. I found it quite zen cutting & pinning fabric ( I just lost my Dad this week, so these projects were awesome therapy). I also made a little bib out of the same fabric, but forgot to take a pic. I have now created 4 items and will be making more stuff!
thanks for taking a peek!

The giraffe is great, I love how the blanket and the toy match in both fabric and style Cheesy Good work.

The fabric and ribbon patterns are gorgeous! I'm impressed that you pin and do it properly- my first projects were haphazard and messy but I was about 14 and still have no patience.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad x crafting is therapeutic :-)

What is/was under the cake stand?

These are just so sweet and wonderful!!!  The giraffe is spot-on and to tackle minky for one of your first projects - wow!
I love them both  Grin.

Condolences for your loss . . . our thoughts will be with you.

well teaching myself to sew @41, I should hope I have a bit more patience than @14, ha ha. especially with kids under my belt.  Wink

thanks for the condolence. it has been a rough week.

the cake plate is/was empty (although making a sweet potato pie later). I'm guessing the glass is making reflections & warping a little?
