My husband and I are building a chicken coop.  I want the outside to look like a cute little house with shutters and flower boxes.  We are doing great on everything (I hope) except for the shutters (which is my project).
What I need is for any help with the making and attaching actual working shutters to two 12"x12" windows on the coop.  I have no woodworking skills and this is why I need help.  I really don't want my husband to help me, since he has done everything else on this coop.  I have an idea, but want to make sure I'm on the right track.
Besides shutters and window boxes, What would you add/do if you were building a chicken coop?

Here are (L to R) Clementine, Amelia, and Scarlett:

Here is the frame of the coop as of right now to help with any ideas out there!

and yes that is vinyl flooring!  Only the best for my ladies.

Simple outdoor hinges should be fine. Attach to the shutters and then attach to the window casing. Make sure the hinges fit where you are going to attach them to the shutter and the side of the window casing sticking out from the wall. If the frame of the windows are flush, you could use fence hinges that look like black cast iron and attach to the wall itself and the shutters.
