I have 2 long sleeve mens dress shirts that I need to convert to short sleeve. I have never done this. I just thought I would ask and see if anyone has done this before and can offer advise from their experience. Since it is just cutting and hemming it does not seem that it would be difficult, but you never know!

I think you're right, it's not too difficult. Since the short sleeves don't have cuffs or anything, you just cut them to the length you want plus hem allowance, and then hem them up. If you have a short sleeve shirt that's similar then you can use that as a guide to know how wide to make the hem, what angle to cut at, and how long to make the sleeves.

I just measured the length of a short sleeve, marked that+hem length on the long sleeve, cut, (serge if you have a serger), fold up the hem, iron, and then use a double needle to stitch along the outside. It's quick and easy.
