So here's my first attempt at making a 3" cheer bow! It's constructed of zebra grosgrain, black satin,a nd some sort of shiny, white, knit ribbon material, and the rhinestones were hot glue gunned on. I have a feeling that I should've used fabric glue instead, though- anybody have experience with this?

Grin !!! that is super cute.  Good thing my daughter is sleeping, or I'd probably be busting some out right now.

I think the glue will work fine.  The rhinestones would probably fall off just as much with the fabric glue as with the hot glue.  Just try not to get into many headlocks....
