My lovely partner LadyLeitzen received the dotee I made for her in the latest and greatest dotee swap...I love making these little gems, but some are more fun and challenging, and this one was a doozie!

I stitched several rows on green wool felt and then cut out lots and lots of leaves...I attached each leaf one at a time to the body, but between each row, I hand sewed a strip to secure the leaves...a bit of beading and then a little crochet bowl on top, and we have Artia, the Artichoke (named by LadyLeitzen)...

More pics can be seen in the swap gallery!  Thanks for looking!

Aww--thank you guys...it was hard to ship her, but I knew she was going to a good home...I was totally motivated by my partner who had made the most beautiful sea urchin in a previous swap...

This is so creative! I love all the details, especially the beading and the roots.
