So my friends and I decided to be Rocket Grunts for Halloween...the afternoon before the costume contest at our school.  Naturally, being the craftiest of our group, the responsibilities fell upon me.  @__@  I needed to make two matching Rocket costumes and a meowth.

We decided to base our costumes roughly off of this:

We entered the group costume competition, and then we found Ash, Pikachu, and Jigglypuff completely by chance.  Unfortunately Meowth was sick that day, and couldn't make it.
...but we won!

(Excuse the telletubby photobomb.)

The first thing I did was scramble to find two black turtlenecks and some gloves.  We both already had matching black berets, though I can't remember why.

I made the ears, tail, and coin for Meowth.

I painted racquetballs to make the tiny pokeballs that go on the belt, and then added velcro to the back of the balls and belts.

When I went to a party store for candy and such, I found these...things.

Obviously the first thing I did was buy them and do this:

I sewed R's onto the fronts of our shirts and we were ready for school.

Here are some other photos, mostly from a party on Halloween night.

Thanks for looking!

wow, you did a great job. Love the fact that your classmates unknowingly had the same theme but with different characters. congrats on winning at your school.
