For Halloween this year my boyfriend and I decided we needed to do a set of costumes that went together. This is what we came up with. We intended to have them done well in advance of Halloween Day, but we were working on them until the very last minute...

Please excuse the slight discolouration...

Here is how it was done for those that asked. If anyone wants more details let me know Smiley

The head:

Made to be fully functional, so there are eye and mouth holes, but our vision is quite limited. The base shape is just some plant potter we found at a local hardware store. The top edge was already slightly rounded, so we just finished it off with rolling up some paper towel and taping it down to make a nicer edge. The bottom edge was made round by cutting up a Pringles can into 4 strips, and with some more paper towel, bent and taped onto the bottom edge. Then the whole thing was covered with yellow bristol board to help make a smooth layer, with multiple cuts at the top and bottom so it would fold over the curved edges. Then we did a layer of yellow duct tape for a that shiny plastic look. The eyes and mouth were then cut out and the details added over top; the details were made by laying down strips of black/yellow duct tape on bristol board, and then traced and cut out. Then they were hot glued/taped onto the head. Thin black/red fabric that we could see through was then glued on the inside of the head to hide the holes. The fabric covering the mouth is only glued at the top edge (the bottom edge was loose) so when we tried to drink, the bottle would push the fabric out of the way.

The hands:

Also made to be fully functional. These are made from those foam beer can/bottle holders (perfect shape and size for what we needed!). We got them from a local craft store and cut them up, and hot glued them back together in the shape we wanted, with a gap in the middle for our hands to fit in. Then we covered them a few layers of yellow duct tape. The arm/wrist part is just some yellow fabric I sewed up into a sleeve with a thumb hole, so that it would stay inside the hands.

I'd be interested in doing a personal swap with anyone who wants to do a fabric-wool swap. I have lots of wool and yarns!

Amazing!!!!  I work at a hardware store, and I had a customer come in and buy sponges and chicken wire.  she told me it was for a costume, and I guessed Songebob Squarepants, but she said it was for a giant Lego head.  I can't imagine that it would be as good as this!
