Oh wow. I was quickly scrolling through "hottest new topics," and I thought your first photo was an oil painting you used for inspiration. So pretty. What a lucky daughter you have.

So . . . the first two photos are from the movie, and the last four are yours, right? I'm gobsmacked.

I'm looking for Simplicity 6340 (the 1970's sailor dress). PM me if you've got a copy to swop or sell! Cheesy

Oh my gosh, I love it!! Your photography is gorgeous as well. Did you use the simplicity or mccall pattern based on the Pirates dress? I've always wanted to make this too Smiley

The shadows are just as important as the light.

Wow! You guys sure know how to make a girl feel good. Thanks so much for all your nice comments and encouragement!

Spicecarrie: I actually used McCalls 5414 because that skirt is a circle instead of an oval and she didn't want wide hips. (Fine by me, I didn't want to make paniers!) I left off the obnoxious bows, raised the neckline to minimize the cleavage since she's only 12, and used grommets instead of zipper but otherwise we stayed pretty true to the pattern. Oh, and I used the fabric for the sleeve instead of the two layers of lace.

Guardie for life.

I am really interested in doing a personal swap, especially for greener things like reusable lady items, wool dryer balls, or other such things.  I can knit, sew, draw, and put things together in pretty neat ways.  Please PM me if you're interested.
