My girlfriend and I were looking for a pretty fast and simple project to make for the elderly women in a local nursing home...she found this pattern in Crochet World and convinced me that I could make it...here is the one I made as a test...it is for my own mother to be able to keep the chill off while she watches tv in bed...

I will be making more, but in brighter colors for the Alzheimer patients at the home...

The yarn is a bulky yarn using size N hook and is what they call a long double crochet stitch (which means you have to pull up the yarn)...some of my rows are uneven as I learn how to do this stitch better...

Here I am modeling it...the bottom part needs to barely touch the arms of a wheelchair so as not to get caught or in the way...

Thanks for looking!

I love it. I'm not quite the age to be residing in a nursing home but I would wear one of these! As always, Alwaysinmyroom you are so very talented. Wink Look so comfy, specially to wear while your knitting or crocheting!

Oh, I did not mean to imply that this was intended just for the elderly! Cheesy

THe model in the book was a very young woman but the colors were more in greens...

I plan on making one for myself as well as since it is very comfy and is just right to keep off a chill...

Thanks for you kind comments...I am having fun learning to make more things with crochet!
